stat.yt is a Chrome extension that makes share cards from your YouTube Studio numbers. It's built so that we hold as little as possible: your stats are read and drawn in your own browser, and our server only knows your public @.
What stays in your browser
- Your YouTube Studio data. Video titles, thumbnails, views, click-through rate, retention, subscribers and other analytics are read from YouTube Studio in your browser, using the session you're already signed into, only while you're using stat.yt. They're used to draw your card and are never sent to our server or anyone else.
- Your Google account. stat.yt never asks for your Google password and doesn't use Google sign-in. It doesn't store or send your Google cookies or tokens.
- Your cards and exports. Images and videos are made on your computer. Nothing is uploaded unless you share it yourself. Backgrounds and music you add stay on your computer too.
- Your stat.yt key. Your account is a key pair made in your browser instead of a password. The private key is kept in Chrome's extension storage (synced to your other computers if Chrome sync is on) and in any backup file you save. It never reaches our server.
What our server keeps
Only what's needed to show your @ on cards and keep it yours:
- your @handle
- your public key, which checks that changes to your account come from you
- your profile picture, if you upload one
- the YouTube channels you link: each channel's ID, name, @handle and picture link. No subscriber counts or other stats.
Your stat.yt profile is public: anyone who knows your @ can see your picture and the channels you've linked. That includes cards where you've hidden your channel, since they still show your @.
To stop people from grabbing lots of @s, the server also keeps a salted, one-way hash of your network address for about a day after you claim an @, then deletes it. It never stores the address itself.
What we don't do
- No ads, analytics or tracking, in the extension or on this site.
- No selling or sharing your data with anyone.
- No cookies on this site.
The extension and this site load the Inter font from Google Fonts, so Google sees a font request from your browser. Our server and this site run on Cloudflare, which handles the requests to deliver them.
Why the extension asks for what it does
- studio.youtube.com: to read your numbers there, in your browser, and to add the stat.yt button to Studio.
- Storage: to keep your settings and your key.
- Side panel and scripting: to show the card editor next to Studio, and to connect to a Studio tab that was already open when you installed stat.yt.
Deleting your data
To delete your account, click the stat.yt icon in Chrome's toolbar, open your profile and choose Delete account. Your @, profile picture and linked channels are removed from our server right away, and the @ is free for anyone. Removing the extension from Chrome deletes everything it stored in your browser.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
